At the center of the frame are the famous Pillars of Creation. These enormous towers of hydrogen are a true cosmic factory, where intensely active star formation is underway. Young, brilliant stars light up the gas from within, producing that almost “divine” glow that made the Hubble’s 1995 image an icon of modern astronomy.
